Velia Venegas Obituary, Death – On Monday, a section of Interstate 80 in Nebraska was shut down for about four hours following a fatal collision, according to the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP). The accident occurred around 3:40 p.m., involving two vehicles near mile marker 319, which is located east of the Phillips exit in Hamilton County.
A preliminary report from the NSP indicates that a sedan, traveling west on I-80, crossed the median and collided head-on with an eastbound semi-truck. The driver of the sedan was identified as Velia Venegas, a 21-year-old resident of Grand Island. Sadly, she was declared dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the semi-truck, however, was unharmed in the incident.
The NSP stated that the crash is still under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the accident.
