Tremayne Javahn Long Obituary, Death – A 37-year-old Bessemer man, Tremayne Javahn Long, died at the hospital Friday morning after being shot overnight in Birmingham. The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. at the Third Avenue Package Store, located at 1501 3rd Avenue West, according to Birmingham police.
Officers were dispatched to the store following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Long lying unresponsive on the floor inside the store, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue quickly transported him to UAB Hospital, but despite their efforts, Long was pronounced dead at 2:16 a.m.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Long was involved in a physical altercation with another man, and during the fight, the other individual shot him. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large.
