Tracy Roane Obituary, Death – Fairfax County Police have identified a Centreville man, 56-year-old Tracy Roane, as the pedestrian who was killed on Route 29 on Saturday night. The tragic incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. when Roane was walking in a northbound lane near White Post Road.

Roane was initially struck by an SUV, and after this initial collision, he was hit by additional vehicles traveling on the highway. According to police, all drivers involved remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.

The area where the accident happened features a pathway alongside Route 29, intended for pedestrians. However, police noted that Roane was not using a crosswalk at the time of the incident.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives have ruled out drunk driving as a factor in Roane’s death. However, they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the potential influence of speed. Alcohol use by Roane himself is also being investigated.

Fairfax County Police are seeking assistance from the public for any further information regarding the events of that night.
