The incident took place near Hawthorne Drive and Poplar Avenue, where a man was shot and killed by police after allegedly charging at them with a knife. The officers involved were Thomas Fowler, who has five years of experience with the department, and Tanner Till, who has been with the force for one year.
Over the weekend, the police provided an update on the shooting, though it was revealed that no body camera footage of the incident exists, as the Orchard Park Police Department does not equip officers with body-worn cameras.
The New York Attorney General’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the shooting.
