Talise Dunmore, De-Lisha Dunmore Obituary, Death – A Milwaukee family is mourning the loss of a young woman following a hit-and-run incident on the city’s far north side, which also left her sister seriously injured. The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Talise Dunmore, while her sister, 23-year-old De-Lisha Dunmore, is recovering from her injuries.
According to police reports, the two sisters were crossing 76th Street at Good Hope Road when they were struck by a driver who failed to stop. After the accident, the driver fled the scene but was later located, and a 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
Family members shared that Talise and De-Lisha were not only sisters but also best friends. Talise had recently graduated from Menomonee Falls High School and had worked hard to pay for her education at cosmetology school, where she was training to become a nail technician.
While Talise succumbed to her injuries, De-Lisha has since been released from the hospital but is facing significant health challenges as she recovers.
Family members indicated that police informed them the driver was speeding at the time of the accident. This concern about speeding resonates with residents in the area, many of whom express worry over the dangers of the busy intersection.
Debbie Lewis-Thomas, a nearby resident, commented on the issue, stating, “It’s terrible. Milwaukee — we have to slow down. We have to be aware of people walking. This is a busy neighborhood, a busy street. There are restaurants here, and kids are going to walk.” She emphasized that speeding in the area makes the intersection even more perilous, stating, “I wouldn’t cross 76th or Good Hope Road.”
The Milwaukee Police Department is currently referring charges against the 34-year-old driver to the district attorney’s office. They are also appealing to the public for more information about the incident, urging anyone with relevant details to call 414-935-7360 or to reach out anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 414-224-Tips or via the P3 Tips app.
