Sherry Ann Tracy, Thomas A. Tracy, Jr Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the two victims who lost their lives in a devastating home explosion in Shelby County. The victims, Sherry Ann Tracy, 57, and Thomas A. Tracy, Jr., 56, were confirmed deceased by Shelby County Sheriff James Frye on Wednesday.

As reported by News Center 7, emergency services received calls about a house fire around 2:05 a.m. in the 17000 block of Sharp Road. One caller described the incident, stating, “And the neighbor’s house, I think it exploded.”

The explosion was so powerful that it was captured by a neighboring security camera. Witnesses described the aftermath as chaotic. One resident, Billy Williams, recounted, “It just spread. It started burning the trees, started on the power lines… it was chaos.”

Upon arrival at the scene, investigators confirmed that Sherry and Thomas Tracy were found deceased inside the home. Additionally, the bodies of a couple of dogs were discovered at the site. The explosion completely destroyed the home, leaving it as a total loss. The debris field extended over an area larger than two football fields, and several nearby homes sustained damage from the blast.

As of now, the cause of the explosion is still under investigation, and authorities are working diligently to determine what led to this tragic event. The community is in mourning, grappling with the sudden loss of the Tracys, while officials continue to look for answers.
