Shane Linderman Obituary, Death – The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has identified the man fatally shot by officers at the Dollar General on Belmont Avenue. The deceased has been named as 50-year-old Shane Linderman. Linderman was pronounced dead at the scene, and an autopsy was performed at the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, following reports of a man, later identified as Linderman, who had reportedly stabbed both himself and a woman inside the store. When officers arrived, Police Chief Carl Davis stated that they found Linderman with a stab wound and a woman with severe, life-threatening injuries who was unresponsive.

During the confrontation, an officer discharged his firearm, resulting in Linderman’s death. The woman was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center and remains in critical condition, according to a Wednesday update.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) has been called in to carry out an independent investigation into the shooting. Additionally, the Youngstown Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division will conduct an internal review of the incident.
