Serjio Rutiaga Obituary, Death – A tragic accident in Beaver County resulted in the death of one individual. The incident occurred at 1:41 a.m. on Sunday, roughly 11 miles south of Turpin, Oklahoma, along U.S. Highway 83.
The sequence of events began when two vehicles, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and a 2016 Kia Optima, were rendered inoperable in the roadway due to a prior collision. As these vehicles remained disabled, a third vehicle, a 2020 3500 truck, failed to notice the situation ahead and crashed into both the Elantra and the Optima.
The driver of the Elantra, identified as 41-year-old Serjio Rutiaga from Liberal, Kansas, was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by an Oklahoma Medical Examiner. Investigators noted that neither of the drivers in the first two vehicles was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. In contrast, the driver of the third vehicle, which collided with them, was wearing a seatbelt.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the deceased driver’s condition at the time of the accident, while the other two drivers were reported to be in normal condition. This incident underscores the critical importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining vigilant while driving, particularly in the aftermath of collisions.
