Sergey Moiseenko, Yadviga McConville Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the individuals involved in a murder-suicide in Pompano Beach on Thursday as a formerly married couple. Sergey Moiseenko, 44, fatally shot his ex-wife, Yadviga McConville, before taking his own life, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Documents reveal that Moiseenko and McConville, who were divorced in 2021, shared children together. The tragic incident occurred shortly after 12:20 p.m. near Pier Street and Seabreeze Way, close to the Pompano Beach Pier.
Employees at a nearby BurgerFi restaurant reported that the couple had been dining on the patio prior to the shooting. They observed no signs of conflict or distress between them. One employee noted, “If there was any indication of trouble, I would have intervened, but I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. It makes you reflect on your own family and how situations like this develop.”
Moments later, gunfire erupted in the vicinity. Witness Jimmy Veliz recounted hearing approximately six shots before seeing people fleeing the area. He then came across the two deceased bodies.
McConville was pronounced dead at the scene, while Moiseenko was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Moiseenko was identified as a resident of Fort Lauderdale. Details regarding McConville’s background remain sparse.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the motive behind the shooting. This incident marks the third murder-suicide in South Florida within the past week. Previously, a man in Miami-Dade fatally shot himself and the mother of his children over the weekend, and another man in Hialeah killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself.
