Scarleth Ramnarine Obituary, Death – A 54-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a head-on collision in Utah County on Tuesday. The accident occurred on State Route 96 at approximately 1:09 p.m. Authorities have identified the victim as Scarleth Ramnarine, a resident of West Jordan.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), the incident unfolded when a Ford pickup truck was traveling westbound on the icy road. The driver lost control due to the slippery conditions, causing the vehicle to cross into the eastbound lane, where it collided head-on with a semi-truck.
Scarleth Ramnarine, who was a passenger in the Ford, died at the scene from the force of the impact. The driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, while the semi-truck driver was transported to a hospital by a private vehicle for evaluation.
As a result of the accident, both directions of State Route 96 were closed for several hours to allow for an investigation and cleanup of the crash site. The UHP is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
