The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General confirmed his identity on Friday following the incident that occurred on Wednesday.

Thomas Gross, who has been with the department for 10 years; Officer Tyler Douglas, with two years of experience; and Officer James Klein III, who has served for one year. According to Baltimore Police Department spokesperson Vernon Davis, the incident began around 8:45 p.m. when officers were patrolling the West Baltimore area. Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley addressed the media at the shooting scene, noting that officers had seen Nedd with a firearm, though it remains unclear whether he fired at them. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing as authorities work to gather more details about the incident.
