Robert D. Wallace Obituary, Death – A 48-year-old man lost his life in a crash on Monday evening in Granite City. The incident occurred when a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, travelling south on Nameokie Road, veered off the road and struck the West Pontoon Road overpass at approximately 6:10 p.m. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and worked to free the passenger from the vehicle.
Despite their efforts to save him, he was declared deceased at 6:26 p.m.
The passenger, identified as Robert D. Wallace, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, according to police reports. The details surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
