Richard Sadowitz Obituary, Death – Police have identified Richard Sadowitz as one of the victims in a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 on Tuesday. Sadowitz, whose obituary reveals he was a well-respected gastroenterologist in Chattanooga for 30 years, died at the scene.

According to the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD), the crash occurred when the driver of a Nissan Sentra, a 37-year-old woman, was driving in the wrong direction on I-75. A child, a passenger in the Nissan, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Both the woman driving the Nissan and Sadowitz, the driver of a Honda involved in the crash, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Sadowitz was also on the board of directors of the Orange Grove Centers, where his son, Phillip, is a client resident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

The obituary says…

“Richard loved his family, adored his three neurodivergent children, and helped care for his mother with dementia in his home. He along with his fiancé Wendy Drake, enjoyed spending time with family, watching sports, cooking and laughing at the littlest things. Rebecca, Sam and Phil are devastated but appreciate your love and support.”
