Richard Nash Obituary, Death – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred in St. Tammany Parish on Thursday, September 26, resulting in the death of motorcyclist Richard Nash, a 63-year-old resident of Bush, Louisiana. According to the Louisiana State Police, the accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. on Louisiana Highway 41 near Dolph Gaines Road.
Preliminary investigations by troopers from Troop L revealed that the collision involved a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The Chevrolet, traveling southbound on Highway 41, turned left into the path of the motorcycle, which was heading north. As a result, the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the truck.
Despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet, Nash sustained severe injuries from the impact. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured in the crash.
Although impairment is not suspected on the part of the Chevrolet driver, routine toxicology tests were conducted as part of the ongoing investigation, which continues as authorities seek to understand the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
