Reyes Medina Obituary, Death – Delaware State Police have identified the 45-year-old man killed in a pedestrian accident in Bear on Wednesday night as Jose Reyes Medina, a resident of the Newark area. The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Route 40, just east of Wellington Drive.

According to police reports, Reyes Medina was walking in the westbound lanes of Route 40 when he was struck by a Chevrolet Cruze that was traveling in the opposite direction. The 22-year-old female driver, also from Newark, was heading westbound when the collision occurred. For reasons that remain unclear, Reyes Medina stepped into the path of the vehicle, leading to the fatal impact.

Reyes Medina was pronounced dead at the scene by responding authorities. The driver of the Chevrolet and her 2-month-old passenger were not injured in the crash. Both individuals, who are also from the Newark area, were unharmed in the incident.

The Delaware State Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
