Raul Silva Obituary, Death – A tragic incident occurred Saturday night in Oxnard, where a 46-year-old pedestrian was killed after a vehicle allegedly struck him intentionally and then fled the scene. This marks the sixth homicide reported in the city this year, as noted by the Oxnard Police Department in a recent news release.

Around 11:40 p.m., the police received multiple calls from witnesses indicating that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle in a parking lot located in the 100 block of Magnolia Avenue, which is situated north of the Oxnard Public Library in the downtown area. Upon arrival, officers found the man unresponsive in the parking lot. Emergency responders provided immediate aid before transporting him to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Raul Silva, a resident of Oxnard. Reports indicate that the vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. Preliminary investigations suggest that there was some form of argument between Silva and the occupants of the vehicle before he was struck.

The Oxnard Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is currently handling the ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging anyone who might have information related to the incident, or who may have witnessed anything pertinent, to reach out to Detective Ricardo Vega at 805-385-7688 or via email at ricardo.vega@oxnardpd.org.

In an effort to encourage public assistance in solving this case, the city of Oxnard has announced a reward of $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides within city limits.
