Quanterious Thompson Obituary, Death – A Montgomery man, Quanterious Thompson, 24, tragically died on Thursday, two days after being critically injured in a hit-and-run accident. According to Montgomery police, the incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 6:40 p.m. in the area of Norman Bridge Road and East South Boulevard.
Maj. Saba Coleman, a spokesperson for the Montgomery Police Department, stated that authorities were alerted to Thompson’s condition on Wednesday when they were notified that he had been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Investigators later determined the crash had taken place the previous day, but 911 had not been contacted at the time of the collision, so no police patrol was dispatched to the scene.
Fortunately, the accident occurred near a fire station, and emergency responders were able to provide Thompson with immediate aid before transporting him to the hospital. Despite receiving medical care, Thompson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Thursday.
The driver responsible for the hit-and-run, as well as the vehicle involved—a 2006 Mercury Montego—were located on Thursday. The case is now set to be presented to a grand jury.
As the investigation is still ongoing, authorities have stated that no additional information will be released at this time.
