Nancy Turnbull Obituary, Death – A 75-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car while crossing a street in Mountain Home, Idaho, on Tuesday night. The victim, identified as Nancy Turnbull, was crossing at a designated crosswalk on American Legion Boulevard, near the intersection with North 14th Street East, when the accident occurred. According to a press release from the Idaho State Police (ISP), Turnbull was hit by a Subaru Forester driven by an 86-year-old woman from Grand View, Idaho.
The collision occurred while the Subaru was traveling eastbound on American Legion Boulevard. After the impact, Turnbull sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Despite efforts to treat her, she succumbed to her injuries the following day. The driver of the Subaru was unharmed in the incident.
In response to the crash, traffic on American Legion Boulevard was blocked for approximately three and a half hours. This allowed emergency responders to assist those involved and work on clearing the scene safely. The Idaho State Police stated that the investigation is still ongoing, although the Ada County Coroner’s Office confirmed the manner of death as accidental.
At this stage, the investigation is being handled by the Idaho State Police, who are working to determine any additional contributing factors that might have led to the accident. The tragic incident highlights the potential dangers pedestrians face while crossing streets, even at designated crosswalks, and the need for heightened awareness and caution on the roads.
