Millie Sheehan, Diana Sheehan Obituary, Death – On Monday morning, a tragic accident in Westchester County resulted in two fatalities and injuries to two children. The incident occurred when a car crashed into an apartment building in White Plains.
According to investigators, the vehicle lost control shortly after 9 a.m., first hitting a curb, then a tree, before finally crashing into the front of the apartment building on Battle Avenue. Upon arrival, emergency responders found both the vehicle and the building engulfed in flames.
The fire apparently trapped the two women inside the car, a Tesla, leaving them unable to escape. Once the fire was extinguished and the car removed from the building, the bodies of the two women were discovered inside the vehicle. The victims were identified as 70-year-old Millie Sheehan, who was driving, and her 36-year-old sister-in-law Diana Sheehan, both from Hartsdale, New York.
In addition to the fatalities, two children inside the apartment building sustained injuries and were treated at the scene. A jogger who happened to be passing by was also struck by debris from the crash and was taken to White Plains Hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the vehicle losing control remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that led to this devastating accident.
