Deadly Garden State Parkway Crash
On Saturday night, a catastrophic accident on the Garden State Parkway resulted in the deaths of three individuals—a couple and their teenage daughter. The incident occurred near Woodbridge just before midnight, at milepost 131.1 on the northbound side of the parkway. The victims were identified as David and Michele Dryerman, both 54 years old from Woodcliff Lake, and their 17-year-old daughter, also from Woodcliff Lake. According to state police, David Dryerman was driving a Tesla Model S when the vehicle veered off the road, striking a sign, a guardrail, and a concrete bridge support. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Shooting in Newark
In Newark, a shooting on Saturday evening claimed the life of a man. The incident occurred around 8 p.m., and the victim was transported to a local hospital. As of now, authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
Train Accident in Red Bank
A man was killed by an NJ Transit train in Red Bank on Saturday afternoon. The victim, identified as 39-year-old Anthony Depalma, was struck by the train around 1:30 p.m. at the crossing of Bridge Avenue and Monmouth Street. The circumstances leading to the accident are not yet clear.
Ridgewood Car Crash
On Friday night in Ridgewood, a car crashed through a fence and into the back of a restaurant. The vehicle, a black Toyota Prius, breached a chain link fence, traversed a retaining wall, and ended up at the rear of the restaurant. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the restaurant sustained no damage. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
Route 3 Accident
Early Sunday morning, a collision on Route 3 in Rutherford resulted in three people being hospitalized. The accident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. when a 2022 Ford Ranger driven by Justin LaTorre, 40, collided with a 2018 Honda HRV. LaTorre’s attempt to make a U-turn in the westbound lanes led to the crash. Three of the four occupants in the Honda were taken to the hospital. LaTorre faces charges of assault by auto and driving while intoxicated. He has been taken to Bergen County Jail in Hackensack pending further court proceedings
