Michael Livermon, Michael Thomas Marshall Obituary, Death – Portsmouth police are currently investigating a series of four shootings that took place within a few hours on Sunday, resulting in two fatalities.
The first shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Lancer Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 53-year-old Michael Thomas Marshall, who was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
Approximately one hour later, officers responded to a shooting in the 2300 block of Elliott Avenue, where they discovered another man with a gunshot wound. This individual was later identified as 33-year-old Michael Livermon, who was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Just before 2 a.m., police were called to the 1100 block of London Boulevard for another shooting. Upon arrival, they found three women with injuries. One woman had been shot, while the other two were struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. All three women were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
Around 2:49 a.m., officers responded to a report in the 100 block of Navajo Trail, where they found a man with a gunshot wound. However, the police could not locate a specific crime scene and are currently investigating whether this injury occurred within the city limits.
Portsmouth Police Chief Jenkins expressed condolences regarding the loss of life, stating, “We are saddened by the loss of life that occurred early this morning. We are working diligently to gather all the facts related to these incidents and are asking for anyone with information to come forward to help detectives put all the pieces together.” He added, “Our hearts go out to the families as they deal with these tragedies. We continue to ask for the community’s support as we work to address the violence within the city.”
