Mathew Penny, Chloe Love Obituary, Death – Five individuals lost their lives in a tragic crash in Clermont County early Sunday morning, according to local police reports. The accident occurred around 1:43 a.m. on State Route 28, near the intersection with Edenton Pleasant Plain Road.
The investigation is being conducted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the incident: a 2005 Chrysler 300 and a 2007 Subaru Legacy.
The victims in the Chrysler have been identified as Mathew Penny, 25, Chloe Love, 19, and Dezmen Jernigan, 18. The individuals who perished in the Subaru are Dustin McDole, 43, and Andrea Iery, 42. At the time of the accident, Penny was driving the Chrysler, while McDole was behind the wheel of the Subaru.
The Clermont County Coroner’s Office pronounced all five victims dead at the scene of the crash. In addition, an 18-year-old passenger in Penny’s vehicle, Ayden Taylor, survived the collision but was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious, life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the crash occurred when Penny’s vehicle collided with McDole’s as McDole was attempting to cross State Route 28 from Edenton Pleasant Plain Road. At the time of the impact, Penny was heading northeast on State Route 28. Following the collision, both vehicles veered off the north side of the road and ended up in a nearby ditch.
