Marion Phillip Glymph Obituary, Death – Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has confirmed the identity of the individual who died in a fatal collision that took place on Sunday afternoon near Swansea. The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Marion Phillip Glymph, a resident of Lexington.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 6 and Martin Neese Road around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the crash involved a 2015 Nissan SUV traveling east on SC-6 and a 2003 Dodge van heading north on Martin Neese Road. The two vehicles collided at the intersection.
Glymph was driving the Dodge van at the time of the crash and was wearing a seatbelt, but he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver and a passenger in the Nissan SUV were taken to a nearby hospital; however, their injuries were not life-threatening.
The SCHP is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Authorities will review evidence and gather witness statements to understand what led to the tragic accident.
