Manuel Jones Obituary, Death – A man found dead on Tuesday morning in the Plum Orchard area was identified on Friday by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office as 36-year-old Manuel Jones. The New Orleans Police Department had initially conducted a wellness check around 9:14 a.m. in the 4700 block of Bonita Drive after a report was made by someone who hadn’t seen the occupant for an extended period.
Upon arrival, officers found Jones unresponsive, leading them initially to consider the incident an unclassified death. However, as more details emerged, police reclassified the case as a homicide by 12:37 p.m. following evidence of a gunshot wound, confirmed as the cause of Jones’ death by the coroner’s office. Authorities have not yet released additional information, and the investigation is ongoing.
