Luci Pineda Obituary, Death – A tragic series of events on Sunday morning led to the death of a 38-year-old woman and left five others injured in two separate car accidents. According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Luci Pineda from Farmington, Minnesota, was involved in the incidents on southbound Interstate 35, just north of Cameron, Missouri.
The first accident occurred around 5 a.m. when Pineda lost control of her 2000 Toyota 4Runner. The vehicle veered into the median and, upon overcorrecting, flipped back onto the interstate, overturning in the process. The 4Runner ended up on its roof, spanning both lanes of traffic, with its front facing south. Pineda herself was not injured in the crash, but her two passengers, both aged 27, suffered varying degrees of injuries. The male passenger had minor injuries, while the female sustained more serious injuries. The crash report noted that neither passenger was wearing a seatbelt.
The second, more deadly, incident happened shortly thereafter, around 5:05 a.m., as Pineda was out of her vehicle and standing on the road. At this point, a southbound Ford Edge collided with both Pineda and her overturned 4Runner. The impact proved fatal for Pineda, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The Ford Edge, which was carrying several passengers, also suffered casualties: a 56-year-old woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries. A 36-year-old woman and an infant in the vehicle received moderate and minor injuries, respectively. The driver of the Ford, however, was not injured.
This unfortunate chain of events highlights the severe consequences of accidents and the importance of safety measures, such as wearing seatbelts, to prevent loss of life and injury.
