Kenny R. Petty Obituary, Death – In a tragic accident in Franklin County on Thursday evening, one man lost his life, and two others sustained injuries in a head-on collision. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred on Alabama Highway 243 near mile marker 11. The accident involved a 1992 Ford F-150 and a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500.
Officials reported that the Ford F-150, driven by Kenny R. Petty, a 68-year-old resident of Phil Campbell, collided head-on with the Dodge Ram, driven by 63-year-old Larry Davis of Pike Road. After the initial impact, the Ford veered off the road, overturned, and struck a tree. ALEA indicated that Petty, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Dodge Ram also left the roadway and struck a tree. Davis, along with his passenger, 57-year-old Ronald K. Rollins of Montgomery, sustained injuries and was transported to Russellville Hospital for medical care. The crash remains under investigation by ALEA as officials work to determine further details surrounding the incident.
