Kenneth Owen Obituary, Death – Kenneth Owen, 38, from Kingsburg, has been identified as the go-kart driver killed in a hit-and-run accident last week, according to the Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday morning on Mountain View Avenue, west of Peach Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that Owen’s go-kart, which was traveling westbound, was struck from behind by a Toyota Tacoma, also headed in the same direction. The go-kart, which lacked lights and reflectors and was low to the ground, was not street-legal, making it less visible to other drivers.

Owen was declared dead at the scene of the collision. Although the driver of the Toyota Tacoma initially stopped at the crash site, they fled without offering assistance or identifying themselves. Authorities are still searching for the suspect and believe the vehicle involved might be a white 2012-2015 Toyota Tacoma with damage to the front end. There is currently no information on whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the accident.

In response to the tragedy, Owen’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for his funeral expenses. The CHP is asking anyone who may have information about the suspect or the vehicle to come forward. Tips can be reported to the Fresno Area CHP at (559) 262-0400 or Valley Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867.
