Kenneth Edwards Obituary, Death – A Decatur man has died following a collision in Mercer County, Ohio, that occurred on Saturday morning. The crash took place around 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 49 and State Route 707 in Blackcreek Township.

Mercer County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scene of the accident. Their investigation revealed that Kenneth Edwards, 44, from Decatur, Indiana, was driving a black 2016 Chevy SUV southbound on State Route 707. At the same time, Christopher McKenzie, 61, from Jeaneretta, Louisiana, was operating a white 2023 Kenworth semi-truck and trailer, traveling southbound on State Route 49.

According to the sheriff’s report, Edwards failed to stop at the intersection where State Route 707 meets State Route 49. As a result, his SUV collided with the passenger side of McKenzie’s semi-trailer. The impact was severe, and Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation. The case has been forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for further review to determine any potential legal actions or outcomes.
