Katherin Bellrock Obituary, Death – The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the woman killed in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Rockford. The victim, now identified as 49-year-old Katherin Bellrock, was found by a bystander on October 30. She was lying unresponsive near a sidewalk in the 1900 block of Charles Street.
Medical staff assessed Bellrock at the scene and determined that she was beyond resuscitation. The Coroner’s Office pronounced her dead at 12:42 a.m. An autopsy later revealed that she died from blunt force head trauma, the result of a collision with a vehicle while she was on foot.
The incident remains under investigation, with both the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office and the Rockford Police Department working together to gather more information about the events leading up to her death. Investigators have not released additional details about potential suspects.
