Justin R. Tietje Obituary, Death: Motorcyclist who died Friday night on Interstate 5 near Grand Mound has been identified as 38-year-old Justin R. Tietje from Duvall, King County, according to the Thurston County Coroner. The Washington State Patrol reported that the accident occurred around 8 p.m. as Tietje was heading south near milepost 88.
A 31-year-old woman from Lakewood was also driving south in an SUV when Tietje collided with her vehicle before hitting a right-side barrier. Tietje died at the scene, while the SUV driver and her 35-year-old passenger were uninjured.
Coroner Gary Warnock confirmed Tietje’s identity through fingerprint analysis, and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. The crash investigation is ongoing, and traffic in the area was delayed for over four hours following the incident.
