Jonathan Sullivan Obituary, Death – A 35-year-old man named Jonathan Sullivan, who was shot and killed during a dispute over a motorcycle in Graham, has been officially identified by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office. Sullivan died from a gunshot wound to the chest on Monday near the 20700 block of 92nd Avenue East. The medical examiner ruled his death a homicide in a news release.

In connection with the incident, 32-year-old Keith Canedy has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. Canedy was arrested in Oregon on Tuesday after prosecutors sought an arrest warrant for him. He is currently being held in Clackamas County Jail, awaiting extradition to Pierce County.

The confrontation that led to Sullivan’s death reportedly began when he and a 48-year-old man went to the 92nd Avenue East area because they believed someone living there had stolen their 2024 Yamaha motorcycle. During the dispute, Canedy was in his 2024 Chevrolet Silverado “Bison” edition truck. Allegations state that he shot both men before fleeing the scene.

While Sullivan was declared dead at the scene, the 48-year-old man sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Court documents reveal that Canedy has a history of felony convictions, including residential burglary and second-degree burglary. As a result of these convictions, he is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms, further complicating the legal ramifications of this case.

The ongoing investigation will likely delve into the details surrounding the dispute and the events leading up to the shooting, as authorities work to ensure justice for Sullivan and address the broader implications of gun violence in the community.
