Johnnie Lesley Obituary, Death – Police have identified a man who lost his life in a multi-vehicle accident in Midwest City last week. The incident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on October 3, prompting a response from both police and firefighters to the scene of the crash, which was reported on Northeast 23rd Street, close to Air Depot Boulevard.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a Dodge pickup truck overturned in a ditch and a Land Rover situated in the median of the road. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Dodge pickup, which was traveling east on Northeast 23rd Street, veered across the center line and collided with the Land Rover, which was parked on the shoulder of the road.
The driver of the Dodge, later identified as 68-year-old Johnnie Lesley, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, two occupants in the Land Rover, a 22-year-old and a 2-year-old child, were also taken to local hospitals for treatment. Fortunately, they were released after receiving medical care.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, seeking to gather more details to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
