The crash took place around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Airline Highway and Greenwell Street. Snowden was driving west on Greenwell Street when, for reasons not yet determined, he crossed the intersection and entered the Chase Bank parking lot. He collided with two parked vehicles before crashing into the front of the bank.
After the collision, Snowden’s truck caught fire. Unfortunately, he was unable to escape the flames and died at the scene. The fire caused significant damage to the bank, which was open and occupied at the time of the crash.
Three people inside the bank suffered burns and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Four other individuals were treated at the scene and were released to return home.
As a result of the fire and the damage caused by the crash, the bank has been declared a total loss and has been closed down. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to determine what led to the tragic crash.
