John Boyd II Obituary, Death – The investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Tuesday night in Frederick County is ongoing. According to the Maryland State Police, 38-year-old John Boyd II from Frederick was struck and killed by a vehicle on Maryland Route 194. He was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle involved, identified as 30-year-old Alexander Genatowski, also from Frederick, remained at the scene following the collision. Troopers from the Frederick Barrack were dispatched to the area around 10:30 PM, specifically to the location on Maryland Route 194 near West Frederick Street.
The initial investigation by the troopers revealed that Genatowski was traveling southbound on Maryland Route 194 in his Ford when the vehicle in front of him swerved into the northbound lane. Boyd was standing in the southbound lane at the time and was struck by Genatowski’s vehicle.
Due to the severity of the accident, Maryland Route 194 was closed for more than an hour while the State Police conducted their investigation. This closure was necessary to allow for a thorough examination of the scene and to gather evidence related to the incident.
Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be submitted to the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office. It will be up to the State’s Attorney’s Office to review the details and decide whether any charges should be filed in connection with the accident.
