Jaylen Bush-Victorian Obituary, Death – The 10-year-old boy from Massachusetts, who tragically lost his life in a drunk driving incident following the Kenny Chesney concert on Saturday, has been identified as Jaylen Bush-Victorian, as reported by Brockton Public Schools.

Jaylen, a rising fifth grader, was a student at Downey School, where he attended with his siblings, who were also involved in the accident. His mother works as a paraprofessional at the Barrett Russell Early Childhood Center.

The school district expressed their sorrow on Facebook, stating, “It is difficult to articulate the profound sense of loss caused by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with the family and all those who care for them during this time of mourning.”

According to Massachusetts State Police, Michael Escolas, 42, from Oxford, stole a vehicle from a parking lot at Gillette Stadium, drove under the influence along Route 1, and collided with another vehicle carrying a family of six that was stopped at an intersection. Jaylen was killed in the crash, while Escolas and the other family members sustained injuries, as reported by authorities.

Escolas faces multiple charges, including motor vehicle manslaughter while operating under the influence, larceny of a motor vehicle, second offense operating under the influence, negligent operation, marked lane violation, and nine counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon related to the incident, according to court documents. During his arraignment at Wrentham District Court, Escolas pleaded not guilty to the charges. The judge, at the prosecution’s request, set his bail at $100,000 in cash, with conditions that include abstaining from driving and drinking, avoiding contact with the family, and wearing an alcohol and location monitoring ankle bracelet, as stated by the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Details of the incident on Saturday evening indicate that Escolas had stolen a Jeep Grand Cherokee belonging to a couple from Vermont while they were attending the Kenny Chesney concert at Gillette Stadium. He then drove the stolen vehicle south on Route 1 at a high speed before colliding with the Nissan Altima carrying the family of six at the intersection.
