Jason Irizarry Obituary, Death – Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that took place on Saturday evening in Worcester County. The victim has been identified as Jason Irizarry, a 40-year-old from Dover, Pennsylvania, who was riding a BMW motorcycle at the time of the crash. He was initially transported by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and later transferred to ChristianaCare Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Another individual involved in the crash, 49-year-old Andrew Strube from Columbia, Pennsylvania, was also riding a BMW motorcycle and sustained injuries. He was taken to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for treatment. The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.
The incident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. on westbound U.S. Route 50 near Hall Road. According to preliminary investigations, Irizarry was attempting to pass another vehicle when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail. This caused Strube, who was traveling alongside Irizarry, to also lose control of his motorcycle and crash.
The crash prompted authorities to close all lanes of Route 50 for approximately four hours as they conducted their investigation. Maryland State Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Berlin Barrack at 410-641-3101. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the exact cause of the accident.
