Jason D.Roberts Obituary, Death – A head-on collision in Gasconade County on Monday resulted in one fatality and two injuries. The accident occurred around 9:40 a.m. on Highway 50, just west of Lake Timber Ridge Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a 2010 Dodge Charger, driven by 45-year-old Jason D. Roberts from Mt. Sterling, Missouri, crossed over into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a semi-truck.
The truck was operated by 67-year-old Derald O. Deppe from Morrison, Missouri, who had a 22-year-old passenger, Charles C. Pratt, from Owensville, Missouri, in the vehicle with him. Following the crash, both Deppe and Pratt sustained minor injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital in Washington for treatment. Their injuries were described as not life-threatening.
Sadly, Roberts did not survive the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders at 10:02 a.m. Initial reports indicated that Roberts was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, while it remains unclear if Deppe was wearing his seatbelt during the collision.
The incident is currently under investigation by the MSHP, which is working to gather more details regarding the circumstances leading up to the crash. As the investigation continues, the authorities are focusing on the possible factors that may have contributed to Roberts veering into the opposite lane.
