Jared Savant, Tanya Savant Obituary, Death – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified the family involved in a tragic helicopter crash that occurred on Friday. The victims were Jared Savant, aged 50, his 35-year-old wife Tanya Savant, and their two-year-old child. They were the sole occupants of the helicopter, and all three lost their lives in the accident.
Jared Savant was flying a 2006 Robinson R44 helicopter when it went down around 9 p.m. on Hecker Road, situated near Foreman Road, north of Iowa. Sheriff Stitch Guillory expressed his condolences, stating, “This was a very tragic accident, and our hearts go out to the family and loved ones affected.”
Following the crash, deputies from the sheriff’s office responded promptly to the scene to initiate a preliminary investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was subsequently notified and dispatched to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. Local deputies remained on the scene, providing assistance until the FAA arrived and began their work clearing the debris from the area.
Sheriff Guillory also acknowledged the support from community members living nearby, who rushed to help at the scene before first responders could arrive. Their quick actions and willingness to assist were greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
