On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the Long Branch train station was the scene of this tragic event. Long Branch Police received a report of a shooting victim at the NJ Transit Long Branch Station at 7:39 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a male victim, later confirmed to be Hailey, on the platform. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:34 p.m.
According to the NJ Transit website, a train was scheduled to arrive at the Long Branch station at 7:41 p.m. The investigation into this incident remains active as of Thursday morning, as reported by Swendeman.
