James G. Floyd Obituary, Death – The Routt County Coroner’s office has released the name of the individual who lost his life in an off-road vehicle accident on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as James G. Floyd, an 88-year-old.
Coroner Mitch Locke indicated that the specifics surrounding the accident, which took place on a property near Pagoda in West Routt County, remain unclear at this time.
On Wednesday morning, emergency teams from various agencies were dispatched to the scene after a passerby found Floyd’s off-highway vehicle (OHV) overturned and submerged in a water body on Routt County Road 29.
Emergency dispatch reports reveal that the vehicle had likely been underwater for about 1-2 hours before first responders arrived. Efforts to save Floyd’s life included CPR, which was administered for approximately 40 minutes.
The location of the incident is situated in a remote area of unincorporated Routt County, south of Hayden and southeast of Craig, within the Pagoda neighborhood.
