James Boutwell Obituary, Death – A 71-year-old man found dead in his Yucca Valley home on Friday night has been confirmed as a homicide victim by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The victim, identified as James Boutwell, was discovered at approximately 7 p.m. at a residence located in the 55500 block of 29 Palms Highway. The discovery was made after emergency responders were called to the home for a medical aid request.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found Boutwell inside the home and pronounced him deceased at the scene. The sheriff’s department later determined that Boutwell had been subjected to a violent assault. As a result, the investigation was taken over by the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail.

The authorities have not yet identified any suspects in the case, and the perpetrator or perpetrators remain at large. The law enforcement agency is actively seeking information from the public to aid in the investigation.
