Jade A. Carlisle Obituary, Death – Kokomo police are investigating a fatal three-car accident that occurred on Thursday morning, resulting in the death of a local woman. The crash was reported around 8 a.m. on September 5, near the entrance of Riley Modern Estates, located on North Washington Street, just south of County Road 300 North.
According to the Kokomo Police Department, the initial investigation suggests that Jade A. Carlisle, a 32-year-old woman from Kokomo, was driving a Kia compact car and attempting to turn south onto Washington Street from Riley Modern Estates. While making the turn, her vehicle was struck by a 2020 Dodge pickup truck driven by a man from Kokomo.
The impact of the collision caused Carlisle’s Kia to spin out of control and flip upside down in the northbound lanes of Washington Street. Meanwhile, the Dodge truck continued moving southbound, eventually crashing into a tree and a nearby residence.
A second vehicle, a 1997 Dodge pickup truck driven by another Kokomo man, attempted to avoid the overturned Kia but ended up striking the car on the driver’s side door. After hitting the Kia, the second Dodge pickup veered into a curb and came to a stop.
Tragically, Jade A. Carlisle was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
As part of the investigation, authorities performed a routine blood draw from the drivers of the other two vehicles involved. The Kokomo Police Department, along with the Indiana State Police, Howard County Sheriff’s Department, and the Howard County Coroner’s Office, are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. An autopsy for Carlisle was scheduled for Friday, September 6.
Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the crash to contact accident investigator Michael Riley at 765-456-7000, ext. #8436.
