Jabarri Adams, Ruby Perez Obituary, Death – On Sunday, a man and a woman were killed in a crash on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Cerritos involving a box truck that had been in an earlier accident. The sequence of events began around 6:35 a.m. when a two-axle Ford box truck collided with a GMC Yukon SUV on the eastbound side of the Riverside Freeway, just west of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The box truck came to a stop in the No. 2 lane following the collision.
Approximately one minute later, a Honda Accord struck the stationary box truck from behind, resulting in the deaths of the Accord’s occupants, according to the CHP.
The Medical Examiner’s office identified the deceased individuals as Jabarri Adams and Ruby Perez, both 25 years old. Their places of residence were not disclosed.
Due to the incident, all eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway at the 605 interchange were closed for the initial investigation starting at 6:54 a.m. Eastbound traffic was diverted to the 605 Freeway at 7:49 a.m. The freeway was fully reopened to traffic at 11:38 a.m.
