Heidi M. Bahrs Obituary, Death – The coroner’s office has identified a pedestrian who was killed in a collision last week. The incident occurred in the 800 block of Chris Drive in the West Columbia area of Lexington County on Monday, October 21, shortly before 9:30 p.m.
According to Coroner Margaret Fisher, the victim was 49-year-old Heidi M. Bahrs, a resident of West Columbia. Reports indicate that Bahrs was in the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Chris Drive.
Following the collision, Bahrs was transported to a nearby hospital, where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, October 27. Another pedestrian involved in the incident was also taken to the hospital but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and contacted emergency services. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, along with the West Columbia Police Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT), are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
