Gregory S. Cantrell Obituary, Death – A head-on collision in Blount County resulted in one death and another person injured, according to Alabama State Troopers. The victim who lost his life has been identified as Gregory S. Cantrell, a 64-year-old resident of Cleveland, Alabama.
The accident occurred on Friday at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Alabama 160, roughly eight miles southwest of Hayden. Cantrell was driving a Toyota Avalon when it collided head-on with a Toyota Highlander, driven by 65-year-old Annette W. Lake from Warrior, Alabama.
Cantrell was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. Lake, the driver of the other vehicle, was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. However, the specifics of her injuries have not been disclosed.
The crash is still under investigation by Alabama State Troopers to determine the cause and any other contributing factors.
