Gregory Richard Obituary, Death – A man from Chester, Gregory Richard, was found deceased in Weston following a motorcycle accident. The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department received a request for assistance from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office on October 8, 2024, regarding a missing person case. Richard, 52 years old, had been reported missing since Sunday, October 6. The last known sighting of him was in Danforth, where he was riding his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Investigators from Penobscot County directed their search efforts toward Weston after gathering leads suggesting Richard’s possible whereabouts. After conducting a search in the area, authorities discovered Richard’s remains alongside his motorcycle off Bancroft Road. Preliminary findings indicate that Richard may have lost control while attempting to navigate a turn while traveling northbound. He reportedly collided with a telephone pole before tumbling down an embankment.

The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with support from a crash reconstructionist from the Presque Isle Police Department. Emergency services, including the Danforth Fire Department and Danforth Ambulance service, also assisted at the scene.

The tragic discovery has raised concerns about motorcycle safety and the importance of being vigilant while riding. Investigators are now working to piece together the details of the accident to determine the factors that contributed to this unfortunate event.
