Frank Nichols Obituary, Death – On Monday morning, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office released the identity of a man who was shot and killed in the 7th Ward the previous Wednesday. The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Frank Nichols.
The New Orleans Police Department responded to an emergency call at 8:56 p.m. in the 1900 block of A.P. Turead Avenue, where they found Nichols suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was promptly transported to University Medical Center New Orleans for medical treatment.
During the investigation, authorities learned that Nichols was shot during an altercation when a suspect drew a firearm and fired at him. Initially, the incident was categorized as aggravated battery by shooting, but the classification changed after Nichols succumbed to his injuries from the gunshot wound.
