Faustino N. Gonzalez Obituary, Death – A single-vehicle accident resulted in the tragic death of 52-year-old Faustino N. Gonzalez from Othello. The incident occurred approximately three miles south of Warden, specifically on Road U-Southeast, close to Road 12-Southeast.
According to officials, Gonzalez was driving his 2011 Nissan Frontier pickup northbound on Road U-SE when he failed to navigate a curve in the roadway. This misjudgment led to an overcorrection, causing the vehicle to cross both lanes of traffic before veering off to the west side of the road. As a result, the pickup rolled over three times before coming to a stop.
At the time of the crash, Gonzalez was not wearing a seatbelt, which resulted in his ejection from the vehicle. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner, Craig Morrison, has taken charge of Gonzalez’s remains, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigating deputies indicated that both speed and alcohol may have played a role in the collision. In the aftermath of the accident, the roadway was reopened to traffic, but authorities are advising drivers to exercise caution when navigating through the area, as it may still pose risks due to the nature of the incident.
