Erik Mewborn Obituary, Death – The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has identified the individual who was fatally shot in Northeast D.C. on Saturday as 44-year-old Erik Mewborn, a resident of Northeast D.C.
The incident occurred on September 14, when D.C. police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Adams Place at around 5 a.m. following reports of an individual lying on the ground. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mewborn with a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services from DC Fire and EMS were called to the scene, but Mewborn was pronounced dead at the location due to the severity of his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. The MPD is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them by calling 202-727-9099 or by texting tips to 50411. Additionally, the department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
