Eric Lamont Eutsey Obituary, Death – A fatal stabbing on Halloween night in Ozark, Alabama, has left one man dead and sparked a search for a murder suspect. Around 10:15 p.m., Ozark police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Frank Marshall Road. Upon arrival, they found 43-year-old Eric Lamont Eutsey lying in the roadway with multiple stab wounds. Eutsey was transported to Dale Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Throughout the night, Ozark police and Dale County Sheriff’s Office investigators gathered evidence from the crime scene and interviewed witnesses. Their investigation, which included obtaining search warrants for a nearby home and vehicle, eventually led them to charge 58-year-old Marcus Lee Slater with Eutsey’s murder.

Although a motive remains unclear, witness statements indicated that Slater was seen running toward Faust Avenue following the attack. Law enforcement launched a search for Slater, using tracking dogs and a helicopter, but he remains at large.

In a statement, police expressed their commitment to seeking justice for Eutsey and urged the public to assist by providing any information about Slater’s whereabouts. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact 911 or the Ozark Police Department.
